Theme 2015 Glass to share

Family gatherings, barbecues and parties with friends, there are many opportunities for making the most of a convivial moment in which glass makes its mark. Students were invited to design a bottle or jar that enhances these shared moments and prolongs the pleasure of being together. Among the different markets to explore, their design may also touch upon the world of luxury and fulfill the criteria for excellence of Verallia’s high-end brand. For the 2014 edition, Verallia has joined forces with the Syndicat des AOC Bordeaux et Bordeaux Supérieur (Association of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur AOC wines) to offer a special prize on the theme of: “Design the Bordeaux Rosé Bottle”.

Designer

The elegance of simplicity. To define his work as a designer, Emmanuel likes to refer to the quotation by Constantin Brancusi: “Simplicity is complexity resolved.”

Emmanuel Gallina approaches his craft as a designer with elegance, clarity and simplicity.
For seven years he worked at Antonio Citterio in Milan for some of the biggest names in international design, before starting up his own agency, dividing his time between Milan and Bordeaux.
He currently works as a designer, artistic director or consultant for international brands such as Cartier, Panasonic, Poliform, Porada, AmPm, Toulemonde Bochart, Clen, and many more.
At the same time, his savoir faire as a mediator between the university and business worlds means that he is often asked to hold conferences or coordinate workshops on different continents.
