The contest mentor
Élise Fouin, a designer with a degree from the École Boulle, goes against the grain of traditional design, thinking about the material before the object. She likes to play with the tactile and sensitive qualities of the materials she recovers and reinvents with subtlety. She diverts, unwinds, accumulates, adjusts, wraps, polishes and varnishes, until the object is born. Renowned for the delicacy and poetry of her work with materials, particularly paper, she was named Talent à la carte at the 2010 Maison & Objets trade show, received the Face of Design Berlin award for all her creations, and is one of the designers of tomorrow selected by Elle Décoration and Maison Française magazines.
